Highly Efficient Heating joins forces to help a family in need

Highly Efficient Heating is a long-standing supporter of Grace House in Sunderland, and we have been working with them again recently to make a difference to one of the families that the charity supports.

The Young family has been accessing respite care from Grace House for a number of years for their daughter, Abigail, who suffers with Cerebral Palsy and associated health issues. When the family’s boiler recently broke down and needed replacing, they did not qualify for funding under any of the schemes available.

When Grace House heard about the situation the Young family was facing, they approached us to ask if we could help. As a supporter of the charity, we were delighted to be able to support them, and joined forces with boiler manufacturer Ideal Boilers and thermostat specialist Neomitis to provide and install a state-of-the-art heating system for the Young family completely free of charge.

Not only will the Young family now have a cosy home over the winter months, but their energy bills and carbon emissions will also be reduced by the energy efficient new system.

Highly Efficient Heating’s Director, Phil Hartley, said: “We were delighted to be able to help out the Young family and make a real difference to their lives. Supporting local charities is at the heart of our ethos and we are a long-standing supporter of Grace House. We’re grateful to our partners Ideal Boilers and Neomitis for getting involved and supporting this.”

Grace House provides support to children, young people and their families from across the North East with complex disabilities, health needs and life limiting conditions. They provide a fun, safe and exciting environment for children at their centre in Sunderland. Not only do they provide overnight short breaks and therapeutic activities for children and young people, they provide additional services for families and carers including counselling, support groups and complementary therapies.
